On April 11, 2024, we held a discussion meeting at Yamakiya Community Center with the visiting delegation of ANCCLI (National Association of Local Information Commissions on Nuclear Energy) from France, who came to inspect the situation after the Fukushima nuclear accident.
The CLI (Local Information Commission) is a resident-participation information committee mandated to be established in all areas where nuclear power is located in France. Its purpose is to ensure that the operation of nuclear power plants remains transparent and open to the community. The national association of these committees is ANCCLI.
ANCCLI participated online and presented at the 23rd Fukushima Dialogue. Additionally, Yves Lheureux from the ANCCLI Secretariat is a member of the Advisory Committee for the NPO Fukushima Dialogue.
We received many questions about information disclosure after the nuclear accident, the situation of the affected areas, and the conditions of the affected residents. Since the delegation was composed of representatives from various regions, there was a high interest in understanding the thoughts and conditions of the residents.
The Fukushima University Community Future Design Center Soso Satellite also participated in the discussion meeting. We appreciate their cooperation. We would also like to thank the Yamakiya Community Center for providing the venue.
