“Reflections on Our Hometowns — Where Do We Come From, and Where Are We Going? Voices from Fukushima”
The 27th Fukushima Dialogue will be held over two days, on Saturday 6 December and Sunday 7 December 2025, at CREVA Ōkuma, located in the Ōno Station West Exchange Area of Ōkuma Town.
Fifteen years have passed since the nuclear accident. How have the accident and prolonged evacuation affected individuals and communities? At the same time, the number of people moving to and settling in Fukushima has continued to grow year by year.
Fukushima today is home to people in diverse situations: those who have returned, those who continue to live elsewhere after evacuating, and younger generations with little direct memory of the disaster. This Dialogue aims to reflect on what “hometown” means from each of these different perspectives.
